Meaning: About Om: Om (Aum) is the primordial sound of the universe. It represents the ultimate reality, consciousness, and the soul (Atman). The sound consists of three syllables: A-U-M, representing creation, preservation, and destruction, as well as the waking, dreaming, and deep sleep states of consciousness.
भावार्थ
ॐ अकार, उकार और मकार — इन तीन मात्राओं से बना है, और चौथी मात्रा वह मौन है जो उच्चारण के बाद शेष रहता है। माण्डूक्य उपनिषद् इसी एक अक्षर की व्याख्या में समर्पित है: जाग्रत, स्वप्न, सुषुप्ति और तुरीय — चारों अवस्थाएँ इसी में हैं। जप करते समय ध्वनि से अधिक महत्त्व उस मौन का है जो उसके बाद आता है।
